Category Analyst - (Hybrid – Montclair, NJ)
We are actively seeking a Category Analyst with strong MS Excel experience for a Hybrid role in a Contract capacity with our client, a leader in the global CPG space. This is a Contract opportunity, with possible extension or conversion. This Category Analyst will become a liaison between Marketing, Sales and Business Intelligence and have demonstrated capabilities working with Nielson and IRI syndicated data.

Category Analyst Responsibilities:
- Aiding in the development and commercialization of the Brand strategy, guidelines, tools, and processes to meet business objectives.
- Owner of the syndicated data base maintenance, adhoc projects facilitated through third party data providers, distribution and maintenance of the monthly reporting suite, sales strategy communications, and consolidating sales inputs for monthly internal meetings - Neilson, IRI syndicated data - VERY STRONG MS EXCEL.
- HYBRID between Marketing, Sales and BI - data and digital marketing!
- Identifying customer opportunities through Category Management scorecards and other gap analysis.
- Leveraging customer, industry, market, and competitive information to develop solution-based sales presentations that drive growth to the category.
- Collaborating with Sales Team, utilizing the total offerings to meet their needs to drive sales and profitable opportunities.
- Utilizing an understanding of market dynamics, consumer trends, and shopper behaviors to deliver category insights to internal and external stakeholders.
Category Analyst Requirements:
- BS Degree in Marketing, Statistics, Communications, Business Administration or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of Category Management Experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Category Management practices and tools, including IRI and Nielsen.
- Advanced Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint - they will be presenting data to the stakeholders, Directors and VPs.
- Firm understanding of IRI/Neilsen database and measures in order to deliver compelling category management analysis.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment, working on multiple projects and deliverables at once.
