Pharmacist needed for Indian Health Community outpatient opportunity.

Job REQUIREMENT(S):

Degree: A doctoral or bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy

Licensure: All applicants must have an Arizona Pharmacist License

Experience: Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year recent experience working as a pharmacist. Must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary to perform the work of the position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Successful completion of doctoral or bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, Arizona Board of Pharmacy License, AHA BLS certified, minimum of 1 year pharmacist experience.

Job Duties:

Must be able to dispense medications as  prescribed; counsel patients on directions, side effects and potential interactions of medication(s); consult with co-workers and other departments within facility; perform duties within scope of practice and as allowed by state and federal laws and regulations.

Collaborate with physicians to discuss potential incompatibility issues with patient prescriptions; maintain accurate inventory of medications; offer information to assist patients in understanding how to properly take their prescribed medications; work with the pharmaceutical staff to maintain a clean, customer-friendly workplace.

Additional Position Requirements:  Immunization records, current BLS

This is an outpatient Pharmacy opportunity in Northern Arizona. Candidates who can prepare and/ or administer vaccinations including flu, DTAP and COVID vaccination a plus (not required); additional opportunities will be available in the fall/winter months if assignment is extended.  Primary responsibilities include dispensing, checking prescriptions and counseling patients on new prescriptions.
