Health Technology Analyst
POSITION IS ONSITE AT 6000 MacArthur Blvd, Bethesda, MD.
The role described requires a multifaceted professional with a robust educational background in health sciences or engineering disciplines, complemented by extensive experience (minimum 8 years) in health technology and biomedical equipment. The candidate must be proficient in English and a U.S. citizen, with a deep understanding of DHA MED Log policies and procedures to ensure compliance with healthcare technology coordination. Expertise in medical terminology, simulation technology, and the capacity to learn simulation software are essential for effective training and recommendations.
The position demands proficiency in managing medical equipment programs, developing educational curricula on medical technology usage, overseeing medical device recall and safety programs, and executing capital asset planning for medical equipment, ensuring alignment with healthcare standards and regulatory requirements. The role of a biomedical engineering expert encompasses a broad range of responsibilities, from serving as a subject matter expert on systems like DMLSS and LogiCole to ensuring the effective deployment of medical technologies. This includes advising on the viability and safety of medical equipment, managing its life-cycle, and ensuring compatibility with existing systems. Moreover, the position requires strong communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and apply project management principles effectively. A comprehensive understanding of medical logistics software and tools is also essential to excel in this role.
MUST HAVE DHA MED Logistics knowledge as well as proficiency in DMLSS and LogiCole .
Duties
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of medical equipment within NCR's MTFs, ensuring each phase from acquisition to maintenance aligns with strategic goals.
- Implement and manage a sustainment program that adheres to regulatory standards, including FDA and Joint Commission requirements.
- Conduct thorough evaluations to integrate medical devices with MEDCOI and MHS Genesis systems, collaborating closely with IT departments.
- Standardize property and equipment processes, maintaining rigorous compliance with DHA directives and quality standards.
- Develop and enforce a comprehensive program for monitoring financial liability and ensuring accurate reporting of Internal Use Software data.
- Provide expert PMO oversight for medical device logistics and cybersecurity measures within the RMF framework.
- Facilitate the adoption of new technologies, focusing on architectural innovation, security enhancements, and system integration.
- Regularly update SOPs to reflect current practices and ensure alignment with governmental regulations and standards.
- Engage in acquisition support, ensuring new hardware and software designs comply with all relevant laws and policies.
- Conduct comprehensive analysis and provide expert guidance for the development and optimization of complex patient care systems.
- Offer technical support and implement Health Technology Management (HTM) programs for Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) equipment support and administrative personnel.
- Oversee the maintenance of medical systems, ensuring their proper functionality and safety, and provide specialized assistance to National Capital Region (NCR)/MTF staff.
- Develop and maintain a Network Quality Support and Sustainment Plan for the Defense Health Network (DHN) - NCR, focusing on the lifecycle management and safety of medical devices.
- Coordinate and facilitate meetings, prepare detailed briefings, and manage logistics to meet all task requirements and objectives.
Must meet the criteria for a government security clearance (US citizenship is a requirement)
