Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Controller to join a dynamic team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with experience in the construction industry being a significant advantage. As the Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of our operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Oversee and manage all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Reporting: Prepare and present accurate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to support the company’s growth and operational goals.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies.
- Audit: Coordinate and manage internal and external audits, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the company’s financial stability.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and support as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in the construction industry is a must.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Spectrum/Viewpoint experience is a huge plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities, with a collaborative approach to working with other departments.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
