We are looking for a competent, efficient and caring individual to join our high performance team as an Oral Surgery Assistant. Potential candidate should be able to competently assist the Doctor during surgical procedures, be able to anticipate the need for surgical instruments & maneuvers, be familiar with implant procedures from extractions to restorations. Ideal candidate would not be afraid to make mistakes and to learn from them. Competency with digital imaging & scanning technology as well as knowledge and ability to assist in fully digital workflow as it pertains to full arch restorations is a big plus.
Candidate should be able to connect with a patient emotionally from the first interaction and guide a patient towards the required treatment and throughout the whole treatment process.
Job description:
Assisting in all aspects of oral surgery procedures including IV sedation and general anesthesia cases, setting up instruments for surgical procedures, disinfecting and sterilizing instruments, taking x-rays, 3D scans and digital impressions, clearly explain patients pre/post-operative instructions. Working computer knowledge is necessary as the office has electronic medical records.
The candidate must be highly competent and self-motivated to perform with excellence in a high-paced surgical environment and be able to multitask. Having Front-Office skills and treatment coordination experience would be a strong advantage.
- RDA/OMSA/BLS certification
- Min 2 years work experience as an Oral Maxillofacial Surgery assistant, including assisting with wisdom teeth removal, dental implant placement, sinus lifts, bone grafting general anesthesia, IV sedation.
- Proficient with digital x-rays/ CT scans
- Obtaining digital impressions for dental implant workflow (intra-oral scanning)
- Computer literacy to maintain Electronic Medical Records, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work as a member of a team
- Providing outstanding customer service and putting the needs of our patients first.
