Summary
The HR Manager will lead and manage all functions of human resources encompassing employee relations, onboarding, training, retention programs and initiatives, performance reviews and compliance with legal/regulatory agencies and company policies. This role will be instrumental in providing strategic direction and helping to further develop an engaged, high-performing culture.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Act as a liaison between employees and upper management to establish a positive employer-employee relationship, promote employee morale and retention, and drive an overall positive and inclusive company culture
- Partner with managers to implement and execute the performance review process, including but not limited to evaluations, performance improvement plans and general feedback
- Lead employee relations efforts by resolving issues in accordance with company policy and local legislation and provide guidance on corrective action as needed
- Stay up to date on labor laws and ensure company compliance with federal and state laws
- Protect the interests of employees and the company in accordance with company Human Resources policies and governmental laws and regulations to minimize risk
- Direct compliance reviews of employee handbook and assist in developing and implementing other Human Resource policies and procedures that align with company goals and objectives
- Communicate policy changes and partner with company leadership to achieve compliance with new policies and procedures
- Coach and train managers in their communication, feedback, recognition, and interaction responsibilities with the employees who report to them; make certain that managers know how to honestly, ethically and legally communicate with employees.
- Manage programs to attract and retain top talent including on-boarding, training and development
- Engage with employees to assess and develop ways to improve employee engagement and satisfaction
Qualifications:
- 5+ years HR experience supporting operational management with solid knowledge of all facets of HR, preferably in a service environment.
- Previous experience working on small HR teams or solo highly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related degree preferred
- Significant knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local employment laws
- Proven experience drafting and administering company employment policies; ability to recognize and initiate process improvement opportunities
- Investigations Certification a plus
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated success working with all levels in an organization
- High level of proficiency with Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Solid problem-solving and business acumen skills with proven ability to work independently to drive initiatives
- Strong project management, time management and leadership skills
- Ability to demonstrate integrity and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong organization skills: detail-oriented with consistent follow up
Salary Range:
$95,000 to $120,000, depending on experience
