Data Engineer – AWS – Atlanta, GA - Hybrid - 2 Openings
Expert Technical Solutions has 2 immediate openings for a Data Engineer to join our clients’ team in Atlanta, GA. This is a full-time, direct-hire position. Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of best-in-class BI development standards and practices. You will design, develop, test, and deploy data pipelines from a variety of sources, utilizing batch, real-time, and near real-time capabilities across our segments. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including on-shore/off-shore development and QA teams, in a matrixed environment to deliver impactful data solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing, developing, testing, and deploying data pipelines from diverse sources with batch, real-time, and near real-time capabilities.
- Applying strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills to articulate technical solutions effectively to both external IT partners and internal data team members.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including offshore and vendor teams, to ensure seamless data delivery.
- Maintaining, monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving issues in existing ETL jobs, BI models, dashboards, and reports.
- Working with users and the BI team to develop business requirements and documentation.
- Updating and maintaining key data cloud solution deliverables and diagrams.
- Ensuring conformance and compliance with Georgia-Pacific’s data architecture guidelines and enterprise data strategic vision.
Required Skills:
- Experience in IT, with a strong background in data engineering.
- Proficiency in PySpark, Glue, Lambda, S3, and other AWS tools.
- Experience developing data pipelines from an enterprise data lake using PySpark, Glue, and AWS tools.
- Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and managing large-scale data and ETL solutions with AWS services (S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, RedShift, Glue, EMR, Kinesis, Athena).
- Experience with cloud monitoring tools like CloudTrail, CloudWatch, and AWS EventBridge trigger service.
- Experience in building Data Marts and Data Modeling.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, AWS architecture, and Redshift.
- PowerBI
Preferred Skills:
- AWS certifications such as Solution Architect (SAA/SAP) or Data Analytics Specialty (DAS).
- Full life cycle project experience in building data solutions in AWS.
- Understanding of DevSecOps/DataOps and CICD processes, methodologies, and technologies.
- Strong knowledge of PySpark, Redshift stored procedures, Kinesis, and AWS Glue services.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Infor M3, or others.
