Description
Turion Space is seeking an experienced DevOps engineer with strong AWS expertise, including Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service), and proficiency in TypeScript and AWS CDK to join our growing team on location. You will be responsible for managing our AWS infrastructure, including EKS clusters, implementing infrastructure as code using AWS CDK with TypeScript, and maintaining the integrity and security of Turion's CI/CD pipelines. The ideal candidate should be a problem solver who excels in coding, has broad knowledge of AWS services, and is excited to use their diverse skills to deliver high reliability and consistency in our space technology infrastructure.
Note: This is an on-site position. We do not offer remote or hybrid work arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with every team in our office, every workday
- Manage and optimize our AWS-based infrastructure, including but not limited to EKS, EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using AWS CDK with TypeScript
- Design, implement, and maintain our Amazon EKS clusters, ensuring high availability and scalability
- Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines for our applications, both containerized and non-containerized
- Configure and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting for our entire AWS infrastructure
- Implement and maintain security best practices across our AWS environment
- Contribute to and maintain codebases primarily written in TypeScript, Python, and Go
- Automate workflows to improve developer productivity and system reliability
- Participate in the on-call rotation to support system reliability (details to be discussed during interview)
- Collaborate with software engineers to enhance product operability and maintainability
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field
- 2–4 years of professional experience in DevOps or cloud engineering, with:
- Strong knowledge of AWS services and architectures
- Experience with Amazon EKS
- Proficiency in TypeScript
- Experience with AWS CDK or similar infrastructure-as-code tools
- Understanding of Kubernetes architecture, components, and API
- Strong understanding of Linux system administration
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Must be able to obtain a Secret and/or a TS/SCI clearance
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect)
- Experience with EKS in production environments
- Advanced TypeScript skills
- Proficiency in Python and Go
- Experience with AWS services such as CloudFormation, Systems Manager, CloudWatch
- Familiarity with GitOps practices and tools
- Experience with enterprise Linux distributions (e.g., Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu)
- Knowledge of advanced monitoring and observability tools for AWS
- Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication and teamwork skills
