Job Summary:
Under the supervision of certified radiologists, CTtechnologists operate computerized tomography scanners to produce radiographsfor diagnosis. They assist radiologists with procedures, supervise studentRadiologic Technologists, and uphold customer relations. Key duties include:
- Patient Care: Perform imaging procedures as per radiologists\' directives, ensure patient safety, and instruct student technologists. (40%)
- Equipment Use: Minimize repeat exams and focus on cost-effective use of imaging supplies. (20%)
- Patient Interaction: Explain imaging procedures, obtain informed consent, and communicate discharge instructions. (10%)
- Data Management: Ensure accuracy of orders, diagnosis, and history in the system; communicate effectively with radiologists. (10%)
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to hospital policies, practice radiation safety, maintain licensure, and protect sensitive information. (10%)
- Teamwork: Assist team members across departments, demonstrate flexibility, and contribute to departmental improvements. (10%)
Required Experience:
- Minimum one year as a Radiologic Technologist
Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in CT exam performance and instruction
- Knowledge of OSHA, DHEC, FDA, TJC standards, and safe operation of CT equipment
Education and Certifications:
- Required: High School Diploma/GED, SCRQSA Radiographer Certification, ARRT Radiography Certification, BLS (AHA)
- Preferred: ANM from AART
