Job Summary:

Under the supervision of certified radiologists, CTtechnologists operate computerized tomography scanners to produce radiographsfor diagnosis. They assist radiologists with procedures, supervise studentRadiologic Technologists, and uphold customer relations. Key duties include:

1. Patient Care: Perform imaging procedures as per radiologists\' directives, ensure patient safety, and instruct student technologists. (40%)
2. Equipment Use: Minimize repeat exams and focus on cost-effective use of imaging supplies. (20%)
3. Patient Interaction: Explain imaging procedures, obtain informed consent, and communicate discharge instructions. (10%)
4. Data Management: Ensure accuracy of orders, diagnosis, and history in the system; communicate effectively with radiologists. (10%)
5. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to hospital policies, practice radiation safety, maintain licensure, and protect sensitive information. (10%)
6. Teamwork: Assist team members across departments, demonstrate flexibility, and contribute to departmental improvements. (10%)

Required Experience:

• Minimum one year as a Radiologic Technologist

Skills and Knowledge:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in CT exam performance and instruction
• Knowledge of OSHA, DHEC, FDA, TJC standards, and safe operation of CT equipment

Education and Certifications:

• Required: High School Diploma/GED, SCRQSA Radiographer Certification, ARRT Radiography Certification, BLS (AHA)
• Preferred: ANM from AART
