Location: Wilmington, NC

Experience Required: 5+ years in Tax/Accounting

We are looking for an experienced Tax Manager to join our Wilmington office. This is a great opportunity for candidates who excel in public accounting and are skilled in managing tax-related tasks for individual and business clients, particularly those closely held businesses and pass-thru entities like S Corps and Partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns.
• Engage directly with clients to gather documents and resolve tax issues.
• Supervise and train tax team members to ensure accuracy and adherence to compliance standards.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and develop strategies to take advantage of these changes.
• Communicate with tax authorities to resolve client notices effectively.

Must-Have Skills:

• Strong background in public accounting.
• Extensive experience in tax preparation for individual and closely held businesses.

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA license or candidate status.
• Experience with QuickBooks and handling multi-state, high net-worth individual tax returns.
• Knowledge in preparing exempt organization tax returns.

Work Environment:

• Hybrid: 3 days in-office, 2 days remote.
