Roles and Responsibilities:

In the role of Senior AWS Cloud Architect, you will lead the charge in reshaping our clients' IT landscape. Drawing upon your extensive expertise in networking, databases, storage, compute, and security, you will be at the vanguard of this transformation. We are actively seeking individuals who possess profound knowledge in at least one to two of these domains, empowering you to offer tailored guidance and strategic direction.

Your hands-on approach, coupled with your impressive 15+ years of experience, will play a pivotal role in the design and implementation of cloud solutions. These solutions will be meticulously crafted to align seamlessly with the distinctive demands of our government customers. Through your adeptness, our clients will achieve efficient business outcomes while adhering to the stringent standards of security and compliance.

What You Will Do:

• Design and lead overall cloud architecture and strategy, guiding the development and support of enterprise cloud initiatives
• Ensure cloud solutions align with the Enterprise Architecture strategies, standards, and patterns
• Coordinate cloud-centric activities with leaders, architects, SMEs, and program management to ensure architecture governance and alignment of IT projects with the architecture
• Establishes and leads the technology strategy and technology roadmaps that support the business, usually for a product or group of products that align with technical architecture.
• Design & Implementation of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) on AWS.
• Identify & define technical requirements to build new AWS-based applications as well as migrate on-prem applications to the cloud leveraging cloud-native services.
• Evaluate Cloud Application requirements and make architectural recommendations for implementation, deployment, and provisioning in AWS.
• Design a hybrid architecture using key AWS technologies such as the Virtual Private Network (VPN), Transit Gateway, and Direct Connect (DX).
• Work with and mentor a team of highly skilled cloud engineers in building a state-of-the-art cloud environment that can scale and grow.

What You Will Need:

• BA/BS Degree with 10+ Years of IT experience. A degree can be substituted with an additional 4 years of additional experience.
• Significant years of hands-on experience delivering solutions running in an enterprise cloud infrastructure.
• Must have experience in a client-facing environment and interacting with technical and business stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience using work with GitHub to store and organize code.
• Experience deploying and provisioning in a production environment AWS resources including IaaS: EC2, S3, RDS, EBS, ELB, IAM, Security Groups, Cloud Watch, VPC, Route53, Subnets, Routing Tables, Internet Gateways, certificates, autoscaling groups, PaaS services: EKS, ECR, ECS, Fargate, Code Deploy, Code Commit, and other SaaS services.
• Experience architecting and designing container frameworks including EKS and ECS with Fargate. Experience working with microservices or data processing workloads with tools such as Docker or Kubernetes.
• Experience architecting highly available systems that utilize load balancing, horizontal scalability, and high availability.
• Strong hands-on experience with writing Terraform code to deploy AWS resources including the creation and use of Terraform modules.
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools, automation, and pipelines to expedite software delivery.
• Certified AWS Solution Architect-Professional and have a master skillset in deploying and configuring AWS services using code.
• Six or more years of hands-on experience designing & deploying cloud architecture on AWS in an enterprise environment.
• Scripting Skills using Python and Bash.
• Experience configuring and deploying multiple SaaS services
• Experience working with AWS Organizations and Control Tower
• Experience with Linux and using Ansible
