The Expert SQL, Snowflake Tableau School Business Data Developer will provide analysis and leadership on data analysis projects across the DPI enterprise focusing on School Business Data.
***This is an onsite position in Raleigh, NC.
Currently, the enterprise is acomplex, multi-platform data environment (including some legacy Mainframe) consistingof Amazon AWS/Snowflake and Microsoft Azure, along with Tableau and Power BI.Technologies in use include Oracle, DB2, MySQL, and SQL Server, Tableau andPower BI, as well as desktop-based applications such as MS Access and MS Excel.DPI aims to establish an enterprise data model with a primary goal ofstandardizing shared data entities and attributes and a secondary goal ofstandardizing database management systems and tools. School Business andHR/other data will be hosted in Snowflake running in AWS, generally using SQLServer. The Expert Snowflake Tableau School Business Data Developer willprovide analysis and leadership on data analysis projects across the DPIenterprise focusing on School Business Data. You will provide insight to otherdata analysts, data architects, and application developers related to creatingan enterprise data reporting model that meets DPI's school business andtechnical requirements. You will also provide subject matter expertise andtraining to other SQL/Snowflake and Tableau developers and analysts.
Skills:
Experience with SQL databases and related ETL and advanceddata validations in Snowflake (and also Azure) and data visualization usingTableau (and also Power BI).
Bachelor s Degree or equivalent in a technology relatedfield (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) with a focus on programming, datastructure, data visualization.
Proven track record of solving real world problems usingdata. Excellent critical thinking skills is a must have for this role.
Understanding of different database platforms: Oracle, SQLServer, DB2, and MS Access.
Understanding of Data Warehousing (AWS/Snowflake and Azure) and data mining for reporting and analysis.
Understanding of modeling strategies (dimensional, Snowflake,relational, unstructured).
Experience designing and delivering data mappingspecifications for large reporting platforms. Writing and maintaining businessrules using SQL logic
Demonstrated experience in writing ad-hoc SQL statements
Strong interest in playing a technical data steward roleacross our business and technology partners to understand and detail our data,appropriate
Proven experience with ERD/Data Modelling tools (Toad orothers).

Demonstrated technical ability in learning new technologiesand adapting to frequent changes in the technical environment
