deciBel Research has an immediate opening for a DevSecOps Engineer in Huntsville, AL.

Position Description:

The successful candidate will drive unification and automation of processes to enable development of software capability across the entire GWS system. They will be instrumental in combining code, application maintenance, and application management. All these tasks rely on understanding not only development life cycles, but DevSecOps culture, and its philosophy, practices, and tools. The successful candidate will bring a curiosity and understanding of the development life cycle goals and the transactions occurring within pipelines, scanning tools, deployments, and all steps of the development lifecycle. They will actively interface with DevSecOps and engineering teams to coordinate and optimize the steps that execute within the DevSecOps ecosystem and bring consistency and best practices in approach, tools, and standards. They will also create and maintain fully automated Continuous Integration (CI) build processes, which include writing builds and deployment scripts. Must be able to support an in-person, closed-area work environment 100% of the time

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 3 years of related experience, or a Master's degree and 0 years of related experience.

Experience Requirements:

• Must have a DOD 8570 IAT Level II certification (ex: Security + CE)
• Experience working with cloud technologies and platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud
• Experience with Agile practices and principles to deliver high quality products and services
• Communicates effectively, both internally and externally to team
• Eager to expand knowledge and continually improve
• Ability to write or review software code (Java, Python, etc.)
• Exposure to DevSecOps practices
• Must be able to support an in-person, closed-area work environment 100% of the time

Special Skills Desired:

• Experience deploying and maintaining applications on Kubernetes clusters
• Experience with PaaS (Platform as a Service) infrastructure
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Atlassian JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins, and Nexus repositories
• Experience with configuration management tools, i.e., Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, others.
• Experience with branching strategies, gated commits and source-controlled management
• Programming and scripting experience in a UNIX environment (C++, Perl, Python, Bash, Ruby, Shell, Scripts)
• Programming and scripting experience in a Windows environment (PowerShell, etc.)
  • Experience with IaaS (Infrastructure as Code) scripts in Terraform and Helm to provision cloud resources
