Job DescriptionAerospace and Defense manufacturer seeks an experienced machinist for OD and ID grinding. The job requires interpreting customer and operational drawings to set up and run rotating engine components to tolerances of .0005" (or less) on manual machining centers. WORK
EXPERIENCE: Previous OD / ID GRINDING work experience within a manufacturing / machine shop is required, no exceptions. Gear grinding experience within the Aerospace industry highly preferred. Additional machining skills such as a lathes mills is also preferred.
SKILLS:- Basic shop math skills required, which includes values to .0001
- Blue print reading is required; ability to interpret drawings. This includes understanding datums, various drawing views, some GD&T, especially runout, circularity, concentricity.
- Inspection techniques using indicators, height stands, micrometers, optical comparators, gages blocks, etc., is required.
OTHER:- The prospective employee must also demonstrate basic skills to perform required tasks.
NOTE:- Starting pay will be based on experience and proven / demonstrated skills.
- Prefer the employee have their own tools. - Must be on time and show up every day to work
- Must demonstrate willingness to learn new jobs and tasks, and work as a member of a team.
- Must be self motivated and able to work independently.
- Must be a US Citizen, pass a physical, and drug screening.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
