The Marketing and Communications Specialist will play a key role in supporting JMC's digital, content, brand, event, and social media promotion efforts. This role requires strong graphic design skills to assist in creating high-quality content and presentation materials. The Specialist is responsible for daily operational tasks that align with the organization's goals and support team members effectively. Public Health and/or Public Health Informatics knowledge is desired.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and support all marketing initiatives and conference attendance within JMC and provide guidance on issues that are related to marketing and branding strategies.
- Update and manage JMC website and social media profiles, including Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and additional channels that may be deemed relevant.
- Explore new ways to engage with target audiences and identify emerging social networks.
- Assist and support improvements to marketing related processes, policies, reporting, communication flow, and planning.
- Routinely meet with the Business Development team to coordinate budgets, conference schedules, attendees, deadlines, events and applicable partner activities.
- Plan, prepare and conduct webinars designed to market JMC services.
- Work directly with team members and leadership to design and implement key marketing materials, presentations, and content, ensuring adherence to JMC branding guidelines.
- Bring fresh ideas for design and content creation to enhance marketing efforts.
- Collaborate with other team members to maintain consistent branding within the organization.
- Manage other design needs such as presentations, signage, and trade show collateral as needed.
- Oversee all aspects of an event from pre-planning, determining resources needed, pre-event marketing and planning, on-site coordination, to post event follow up.
- Maintain event supplies and order necessary materials, including venue arrangements, lodging, food, beverages, and promotional items.
- Attend conferences as needed and directed which may include travel.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree or certificate in marketing or business management with a focus on marketing 2-5 years relevant experience in marketing and/or social media OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Public Health and/or Public Health Informatics knowledge is desired, but many factors will be evaluated.
- Active and well-rounded presence on social media, with a strong understanding of each network and their best practices.
- Excellent communicator and creative thinking skills, with the ability to use both data and intuition to make informed decisions.
- Bonus experience and skills include proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, SmartSheet, Wix, and various graphic design programs.
JMC bases salary offers on knowledge, skills, and experience and the range of $65,000 - $80,000 is not representative of a total compensation package. A detailed list of benefits can be found on our career page.
