Responsibilities

The Expert Software Architect will lead technical architecture for computer application development in support of the MRC-STTRONG grant. The incumbent will:

• Oversee and manage the technical architecture for the SERVNY application including providing technical expertise, guidance, and visioning the design.
• Guide the development of robust technical solutions for the SERVNY application, ensuring optimal architecture, infrastructure, system layout, technology stack, and framework selection.
• Leverage technical expertise to deliver a cohesive application through the development lifecycle, optimizing for performance, scalability, and future expansion.
• Design and build a responsive web application that can work on any device. This application will use a Single Page Application (SPA) architecture and interact with secure RESTful services. The backend will be developed using object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and leverage Spring framework, Spring Boot for faster development. The user interface (UI) will be built with Angular framework using TypeScript for type safety and enhanced maintainability. PrimeNG components will be used to provide pre-built UI elements. Finally, the application will connect to a relational database, either PostgreSQL or Oracle, for data storage and retrieval.

Skills Needed

• 84+ months experience development in medium to large-scale technical projects and assuring deliverables and project scope are met and well documented.
• 84+ months of extensive experience in designing/architecting, implementing, testing, and deployment of Web Applications (Single Page front end applications, REST backends, MVC.)
• 78 months expert level knowledge in REST API design and implementation (API security best practices, authentication, and authorization mechanism)
• 60+ months of solid experience with relational and NoSQL database platforms
• 60 months of experience with proficiency in Spring and Spring Boot frameworks for efficient back-end development.
• 60 months of strong experience in developing cloud-native and hybrid applications using serverless platforms (e.g., AWS or GCP)
• 60+ months of experience with proficiency in application development with Angular UI Frameworks.
• This position requires at least a bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, MIS or equivalent from an accredited institution. A copy of the degree must be submitted with the Candidate Response Form
