You day-to-day will often change, but it may include:
Shape our data strategy: We need your analytical skills to help drive our business forward. You'll be coming up with new ways to look at our data and suggesting experiments that could lead to real improvements.
Develop better ways to work with data: You'll be building and improving how we find and extract useful information from the data in our product.
Make sure our data is solid: We need to trust our data, so you'll be improving our testing and checking systems. Your work will help ensure that when we say something based on data, we know it's accurate.
Create a framework for data we can trust: You'll be designing systems to make sure our data is safe, reliable, and inspires confidence.
Keep great records: You'll need to document our data processes clearly.
Stay on top of what's new in data science: The field is always changing, so we'll look to you to keep us updated on new tools and techniques we should consider using.
Keep an eye on data quality: You'll be setting up processes to continuously check our data quality and fix any issues that come up.
Qualifications

Degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics,, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. Master's degree preferred
Minimum of 8 years of experience in data analysis, data science, or a similar role
Proven track record of driving business improvements through data-driven insights
Expert-level proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., C++, Python, R, SQL)
Strong knowledge of statistical analysis and machine learning techniques
Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Spark)
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to approach issues from multiple angles
Ability to present complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders
Experience in providing thought leadership and driving strategic initiatives
Compensation and Benefits
San Francisco Bay Area/Hybrid preferred, remote considered.
$170-200k with equity in an early-stage startup
