Web Software Engineer I

JOB SUMMARY

This role is responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining Mednet’s cloud-based application.  The Web Software Engineer translates software requirements into workable programming code and utilizes application design principles to create, modify and improve front-end and back-end applications. 

JOB DUTIES

• Develop and maintain features and enhancements to an existing SaaS application.
• Design coherent user interfaces consistent with modern web design practices.
• Write and maintain unit tests (including coded PHP unit tests, performance testing, etc.).
• Write and maintain design documentation for subsystems and components.
• Participate in design meetings and analyze user needs to determine technical requirements.
• Perform analysis proactively diagnose problems before implementation.
• Modify, repair, or expand existing applications to correct errors, increase efficiency, upgrade interfaces, or improve performance.
• Investigate production support issues reported by the customers.
• Other related duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

ESSENTIAL

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 0-3 years of related experience.

PREFERRED

• Languages -- Java, HTML, JavaScript or similar (TypeScript, CoffeeScript, or Dart), CSS, XML, jQuery, PHP, Coded PHP Unit Tests, code documentation practices, source code management (Git, Stash, SVN or similar), React, Node.js.
• Databases – PostgreSQL, MySQL or similar relational databases, Memcached, distributed databases.
• Platforms -- Linux, Apache.
• Frameworks -- MVC Frameworks.
