The software engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high quality software solutions. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to the entire software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing and deployment.

Major Responsibilities:

• Develops software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, and studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes.
• Follows the software development lifecycle.
• Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
• Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
• Improves operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures.
• Coordinates with IT department to coordinate Kaney software development tools by interacting with vendors, recommending purchases, testing, and approving products.
• Protects operations by keeping information confidential.
• Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.
• Determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other related discipline.

Minimum Competencies:

• Ability to work collaboratively with other Engineers and Kaney team members
• Experience in C, C++ and MATLAB programming
• Experience qualifying aircraft software per DO-178
• Exposure to aircraft systems

Preferred Qualifications:

• Programming certifications/accreditations

Preferred Competencies:

• Experience using MATLAB/Simulink Embedded Coder in order to implement control algorithms on TI and other DSP targets
• Experience with Simulink graphical programing
• Experience in SQL programming
• Python programming experience
• Experience with HBM Perception software
• Experience in NI LabVIEW, LabWindows
• Experience working with Speedgoat
• Hands-on electrical circuit experience
• Experience using lab equipment such as multi-meters and oscilloscopes
• Knowledge of circuit simulation tool, such as SPICE, Cadence, etc.
