Position Overview

We are seeking a Junior Structural Engineer to join our team and work on fast-paced, technically complex projects in the industrial, aviation, and wastewater sectors. You will apply advanced engineering techniques, solve engineering problems, and represent AtkinsRéalis in key negotiations with other organizations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare calculations for building dead, live, wind, and seismic loads.
• Develop construction specifications.
• Determine member stresses and sizes using structural analysis programs and validate with manual calculations.
• Design multi-story steel-framed structures for offices, warehouses, and manufacturing facilities.
• Design concrete walls, foundations, and slabs for buildings, tanks, and miscellaneous structures.
• Design foundations and steel frames for pipe racks, stairs, and equipment platforms.
• Generate engineering drawings.
• Coordinate structural system requirements with architects and other engineering disciplines.
• Provide technical support during construction, respond to RFIs, and review shop drawings.
• Execute projects of varying sizes with a focus on larger and more complex projects.
• Ensure the quality of design documents.
• Promote a safety culture and commitment to design excellence.
• Collaborate with clients to define project requirements, ensuring solutions meet budget and schedule constraints.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
• 3+ years of structural design experience.
• Proficiency with RISA, STAAD.Pro, or Tekla Tedds software is a plus.
• Experience with industrial, wastewater, or military facilities is advantageous.
• Revit experience is preferred; AutoCAD experience is a plus.
• EIT certification is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Positive attitude and ability to foster a team-oriented environment.

Compensation

• Salary: $70k-$100k annually, based on experience.
