Summary
Under the direction of a technical supervisor, the ARRT-certified, California-licensed technologist performs radiologic procedures in assigned areas at a safe and technical level not requiring constant supervision. The technologist will perform safe imaging procedures on all emergent, inpatient, and outpatient age-specific populations. Diagnostic procedures include, but are not limited to, basic radiographic exams using fixed and portable imaging equipment in various settings such as outpatient/inpatient, OR/Hybrid, ER, fluoro, and endoscopy.
Responsibilities
- Perform various radiographic exams and process images on various archival systems.
- Professionally accountable for submitting high-quality images to PACS.
- Participate in performance improvement activities in the department.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service to patients.
- Correctly identify patients for the procedures performed and their respective images.
- Follow infection control policies, radiation policies, and good body mechanics.
- Maintain appropriate continuing education credits.
- Comply with all Medical Center and Department policies and procedures.
Requirements
- ARRT Licensure or ARRT-approved equivalent.
- CRT Licensure.
- California fluoroscopy license (must be obtained within the first 6 months of employment or probationary period).
- Graduate of a formal radiology technology-training program in an AMA-approved school.
- Flexibility in scheduling, with the ability to rotate shifts and cover weekends and holidays.
- Willingness to assist at any of the medical center locations.
- Ability to perform job duties in a safe, reliable, responsible, and timely fashion.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently under any workload and/or patient volume.
- Knowledge of related radiology systems (e.g., PACS, RIS).
- Ability to correctly prioritize and complete tasks with little or no supervision.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
