Advanced Hearing Care in Alamogordo, NM, is seeking a skilled and team-oriented Audiologist specializing in electrophysiology and Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) testing to join their growing team.
Responsibilities
- Vestibular Assessment: Conducts comprehensive vestibular function tests, including videonystagmography (VNG), rotary chair testing, and posturography, to evaluate balance and spatial orientation in patients.
- Electrophysiological Evaluation: Administers electrophysiological tests, particularly Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) testing, to assess the function of the auditory system and diagnose disorders affecting the auditory pathway.
- Interpretation of Results: Analyzes test results to diagnose vestibular and auditory disorders such as vestibular neuritis, Meniere's disease, benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), and auditory neuropathy spectrum disorder (ANSD).
- Treatment Planning: Collaborates with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop personalized treatment plans for patients, including medication, vestibular rehabilitation exercises, or hearing aids.
- Patient Education: Educates patients about their vestibular and auditory disorders, treatment options, and strategies for managing symptoms. Empowers patients to take an active role in their healthcare journey.
- Equipment Maintenance and Records: Ensures the proper maintenance and calibration of vestibular and electrophysiological testing equipment. Maintains accurate records of patient information and test results in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Continuing Education: Stays updated on the latest developments in audiology through continuing education activities, workshops, and professional development opportunities.
Requirements
- Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) from an accredited program.
- State licensure or eligibility for licensure in audiology.
- Specialization in vestibular assessment and electrophysiology, with experience in Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) testing.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
