Home Modification Occupational Therapist

This role is PRN based in Boone, Greene, Jasper, and Jackson counties in Missouri.

Based out of St. Louis, MO, Therapy Relief at Hope has provided services to persons with disabilities for over 30 years, including speech-language therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, behavior therapy, and music therapy. Our therapists support ongoing learning, growth, and success while providing a safe and supportive environment for all.

Under the supervision of the Director of Therapy Relief at Hope, the Home Modification Occupational Therapists provide evaluations, recommendations and follow through in the home setting to assist clients to live the most independently as possible[KW1] .

SUMMARY

The Home Modification Occupational Therapist develops and provides evaluations, recommendations, with possible follow-up treatment to aid individuals to live as independently as possible. This position is a PRN position that is paid by the job and requires travel to client’s homes to evaluate and implement home modifications to better serve the client’s needs.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Evaluate homes for residents to safely access
• Identify and implement solutions (grab bars, ramps, improved lighting, levered door handles, etc.)
• Possible recommendations for use of assistive technologies to aid in efficiency of home use
• Train caregivers on the safe use of said solutions

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized university.
• Registered Occupational Therapist licensed by the state of Missouri.
• Ability to train direct-care staff in the principles, practices, and procedures associated with OT services for clients.

WHAT WE PREFER

• 5 years strong clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist
• Experience providing Home Modification evaluations
• Proficiency in the use of personal computers and software applications.
