Job Description:
Chatterbox is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to take on a
12-week maternity leave contract. In this role, you will provide therapy, ARDs, and evaluations as needed. No supervision of SLPAs. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the implementation of speech and language therapy programs tailored to the unique needs of the students for a caseload of
61 students at 2 elementary campuses. The school district is willing to consider a
hybrid (in-person and virtual) option as well!
Responsibilities:
- Document student progress, maintain accurate records, and prepare progress reports for parents and caregivers.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes communication and social interaction among students.
- Work directly with students to deliver therapy interventions designed to improve communication skills.
- Participate in ARDs/parent meetings to support goals of students and clients.
- Conduct evaluations to assess students with speech or language disorders (as needed)
- Collaborate with families and professionals to increase carryover and development of skills.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Current SLP Texas Licensure
- ASHA CCC's
- Previous experience working with children with special needs, particularly non-verbal children, is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including Speech-Language Pathologists, teachers, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with special needs.
- Ability to adapt therapy techniques to meet the individual needs and learning styles of students.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
