Radiologic Technologist (Arlington & Kinston Locations)

We are looking for an exceptional Radiologic Technologist I to join our practice!
Physicians East, PA is a multi-specialty, multi-campus group based out of Greenville, NC offering a wide range of specialties. In addition to primary care the practice offers pulmonary and critical care medicine, rheumatology, dermatology, oncology, endocrinology, cardiology, obstetrics and gynecology, gastroenterology, surgery, urology, and urgent care. Our 102 providers and over 600 employees provide services for thousands of patients in a 29-county region. Our specialists are on staff at ECU Health, a 900+ bed, level one trauma center and the primary teaching hospital for the East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine (ECU-BSOM).

About the role
We are looking for an employee who is self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast paced environment. Responsible for taking high quality digital x-rays, maintaining diagnostic imaging equipment and following physician orders to ensure accuracy of image is captured to better assist physicians as they make their diagnosis.
Supervision Received: Reports to Manager of Diagnostics.
Supervision Exercised: None.
Typical Physical Demands: Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination for operation and repair of all department equipment. Lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Lifts patients weighing up to 300 pounds, and places them in appropriate positions for operation of equipment. Requires eyesight correctable to 20/20 to operate equipment and review digital images.
Typical Working Conditions: Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
Responsibilities (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)
Prepares patient for radiological procedure by positioning patient; adjusting immobilization devices; moving equipment into specified position; adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
Minimizes radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.
Ensures operation of Radiology equipment by performing quality checks following manufacturer's recommendations and trouble-shooting equipment as required, calling in repairs when necessary.
Recognizes changes in patient status and appropriately communicates to nurse and/or doctor.
Exhibits a working knowledge of principles, practice and procedures involved in the operation of radiographic equipment.
Anticipates and recognizes safety hazards, legal liabilities and intervenes through appropriate channels.
