Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Electrical Panel Shop Fabrication Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our panel fabrication shop. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient production of high-quality electrical panels, managing inventory, and maintaining effective communication with the construction team to adapt to changing schedules. This role requires a dynamic individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and excels at problem-solving, particularly when navigating the "grey areas" of project management.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Management:
Oversee the fabrication and assembly of electrical panels, ensuring that all products meet industry standards and client specifications. Implement best practices to optimize production efficiency, reduce waste, and maintain high-quality outputs.
Inventory Management:
Manage inventory levels to ensure that all necessary materials are available for production without overstocking. Implement and maintain a barcode system for tracking inventory, streamlining the procurement process, and reducing material shortages or excesses.
Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of technicians and fabricators, fostering a positive work environment. Ensure that all team members are trained in safety procedures, equipment use, and production techniques. Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to support professional growth.
Schedule Coordination:
Work closely with the construction and project management teams to stay informed of any changes to project schedules. Adjust fabrication timelines and resource allocation accordingly to meet project deadlines, even when dealing with last-minute changes or unclear directives.
Problem-Solving and Decision-Making:
Address and resolve any issues that arise during the fabrication process, whether technical, logistical, or personnel-related. Be comfortable working in situations where not all parameters are clearly defined, using sound judgment to make decisions in the best interest of the project and company.
Quality Control:
Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure that all products leaving the shop meet the required specifications and standards. Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement.
Safety Compliance:
Ensure that all shop activities comply with company safety policies and OSHA regulations. Promote a culture of safety awareness and lead by example.
