Duties/Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments to evaluate patients' mental health status
- Formulate accurate diagnoses and treatment plans based on clinical findings
- The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will develop individualized treatment plans, including medication management options
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure top tier Psychiatric care for patients
- Conduct 15-minute medication appointments (on average) and up to 90-minute new patient assessments
- The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will prescribe or alter psychiatric medications as necessary
- Monitor and adjust medication regimens to optimize effectiveness and minimize side effects
- The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Offers education and support to patients and their families regarding mental health conditions and treatment options
- Promote mental health awareness and wellness among patients
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards
- Ensure timely and thorough documentation of all assessments and interventions
- The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance mental health care services within the facility
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to identify areas for improvement and implement changes
Qualifications:
- Valid license as a Registered Nurse; completion of Advanced Practice Nurse Program for Clinical Nurse Specialist or Certified Mental Health Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the state of Pennsylvania
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
- Active and unrestricted DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards in outpatient facilities
- Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners will maintain clinical competency & collaboration with Psychiatrist
- Direct experience with outpatient communities is preferred as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
