We are seeking a Safety Training Coordinator to join our team and help ensure the safety and well-being of our employees. This role will play a crucial part in providing essential safety training, including CPR and forklift operations, while also assisting with various administrative tasks.
Job Summary:
As the Safety Training Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing and delivering safety training programs, with a primary focus on CPR and forklift training. Additionally, you will provide essential administrative support to the safety department. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain accurate records.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Orientation and Safety Training:
- Conduct comprehensive CPR training sessions for employees, ensuring that they are prepared to respond to medical emergencies effectively.
- Develop and deliver forklift training programs, training, and theoretical instruction, to ensure safe and efficient forklift operations.
- Stay updated with industry best practices and regulatory requirements to continually enhance training programs.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training through assessments and feedback, making necessary improvements to enhance safety awareness and practices.
2. Administrative Support:
- Aid in maintaining accurate checklists, training records and certifications for employees, tracking expiration dates and renewal requirements.
- Assist in the development and management of safety policies, procedures, and manuals.
- Collaborate with the safety team to schedule training sessions and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manage safety training materials, equipment, and supplies, ensuring they are up-to-date and readily available.
3. Communication and Education:
- Promote a culture of safety by communicating and reinforcing safety policies and procedures to all employees.
- Act as a resource for employees, answering questions and providing guidance on safety-related matters.
Qualifications:
- CPR Certification: American Heart Association (AHA)
- OSHA 30 or NASP 30 Certification preferred.
- Certification as a CPR instructor and forklift trainer.
- Proven experience in safety training and CPR instruction.
- Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and industry standards.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage training schedules and records.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
Additional Information:
- In case of an incident, you may be asked to assist in safety coordinator duties.
- This position may require occasional travel to different company locations.
- This position may require working hours outside of the sift schedule.
- The Safety Training Supervisor will report directly to the Safety Manager.
