CNC Machinist

Full Time. First Shift and Second Shift

GTI Precision Components (www.gtiprecision.com) is a machine shop located in Powder Springs, GA.

• We make complex, precision, cosmetically critical parts for the aerospace, defense and medical industries.
• Material Types Cut:  Aluminum, Titanium, Stainless Steel, Inconel, Monel, Copper
• We operate two Multi Axis machining cells: 5-axis/3-Axis milling and Twin Spindle B-Axis Mill/Turn machines.  
• Machine Brands: DMG Mori, GFMS Mikron, Makino, Charmilles
• Control Types:  Siemens 840D, Heidenhain i530, Millplus IT, Fanuc 31i

Position Duties:

• Set Up CNC machines from provided documentation utilizing ProShop ERP software: cutting tool list, work holding, material type and size.
• Pull required hand gauges from gauge crib
• Load raw material into machine for production
• Deburring and washing finished parts
• Inspect parts in-process and post process for dimensional and cosmetic requirements. Input first article and in-process checks into ProShop ERP.
• Work closely with inspection department personnel for manual and CMM inspection

Position Requirements:

• Ability to read “ballooned” prints and understand close dimensions and tolerances. GD&T
• Ability to view and measure CAD solid models
• Ability to take instruction well
• Has good verbal communication skills
• Has basic computer knowledge. Windows navigation, MS word, MS Excel
• Is detail-oriented
• Is organized
• Keeps clean workspace
• Supports shop floor LEAN and 5S initiatives
• Works well in a collaborative team environment
• Takes extreme pride in their workmanship

Conditions of employment:

• Must be US Citizen
• Minimum 2 Years of CNC machining experience
• Must pass a Pre-employment screening

Schedule Type:

• Full-time

Shift Options:

• Day shift: 8am-4:30pm
• Night shift: 3pm-11:00pm
