Volt is immediately hiring Principal Systems Integration & Test Engineer in Springfield Virginia.
As Principal Systems Integration & Test Engineer you will:
Primary responsibilities will be comprised of approximately 20% site leadership activities and 80% technical systems engineering and program execution.
In Systems Integration and Test (SI&T) you will integrate, verify, and validate our products. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. To accomplish this, we develop plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, develop test environments, and work hand-in-hand with our customers.
The site leadership activities include being responsible for communicating and coordinating with customer representatives, providing daily status, facilitating visitor access requests and conducting tours, and communicating directly with factory leads and program management office.
The technical systems engineering and program execution role include supporting the daily execution of activities on a complex satellite ground system, supporting internal and external stakeholder maintenance activities, supporting bi-weekly operational software deliveries and performing on-site E2 triage and support during business hours with after-hours on-call expectations.
Oversee and support the on-site team of engineers.
Provide regular updates to the on-site SETA team via a daily status page and in-person engagements.
Support weekly SETA and team lead technical tag-ups.
Support Change Management Board meetings as needed.
Provide technical SME support as an on-site E2 Systems Integration & Test Engineer.
Work in a classified lab on site.
Work in an Agile program environment.
This is a 12 Month full time Contract opportunity.
The ideal candidate will have:
Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI
Technical Skills/Experience Required:
Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant systems integration and test experience or 7 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree in (STEM).
Experience working on-site in a badgeless environment with multiple stakeholders.
Experience troubleshooting and resolving software system execution problems.
Experience with systems engineering principles and activities.
Technical Skills/Experience Preferred:
Experience working in a Satellite Ground System development or operations environment.
Experience with ground station and satellite domains (such as terrestrial data networking, command and telemetry, launch operations, flight dynamics, mission planning, on-orbit operations).
Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket).
Test Automation experience (Cucumber, Gherkin, home-grown).
Experience with Java, C++, or Python.
Experience with Linux operating system.
Education Requirements:
Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or a Master's degree in (STEM).
Pay Rate: $105.00 - $117.00 per hour
