Job Duties:

• Sets up and operate welding machines for fabricated metal products
• Utilize and work off of blueprints, layouts, welding procedures, and operating charts.
• Weld flat, cylindrical, or irregular parts
• Adjust length of radial arm to position electrode over weld joint when welding radial joints.
• Set current, voltage, and slope, and synchronize feed of wire and flux with speed of welding action.
• Adjusts machine setup to vary size, location, and penetration of bead.
• Installs tracks to weld irregularly shaped seams.
• Preheat work piece, using hand torch or heating furnace.
• 90% is done with Flux Core- 1/16th wire (large, burns faster/hotter)

Shifts:

• 1st shift -6am-4:30pm
• 2nd shift -3:30/5:30pm-11:30pm/1:30am
• Both shifts are usually Monday to Friday and around 48 to 56 hours a week

Requirements:

• 3+ years experience in FCAW welding REQUIRED
• Carbon Air Back Gouge
• Experience in structural steel welding/fabrication
• FCAW, SMAW, GMAW and Sub Arc experience is preferred but NOT required
• Knowledge of automated welding equipment preferred
