Volt is immediately hiring for a Tool Installation Technician in the Sherman, TX area.
As a Tool Technician, you will:
Support the installation and commissioning of capital equipment in a semiconductor facility. This hybrid role bridges the Facilities and Equipment Engineering Services departments, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and within budget. The technician will collaborate with various teams to manage installation processes from planning to execution.
- Work safely in compliance with safety, environmental, and Facilities department policies and procedures.
- Support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
- Inspect the installation of equipment and systems for conformance with plans and specifications.
- Work from technical manuals, specifications, drawings, schematics, and verbal instructions.
- Collaborate with Technicians, Engineers, and Management.
- Partner with Engineers and Technicians on various facilities projects.
- Interface with OEM vendors and contractors to ensure satisfactory completion of repairs.
- Consistently handle complex assignments independently, demonstrating initiative to resolve root causes.
- Participate in team meetings for continuous improvement.
- Perform additional duties as assigned and assist other specialty areas as required.

The ideal candidate will have:
- High School Diploma or Technical/Associate Degree/Trades certification.
- Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on work experience with the maintenance, and repair of building systems and capital equipment.
- Knowledge of Semiconductor FAB systems and related equipment preferred.
- Proficiency in computer programs, including Microsoft Office, Excel, and CMMS.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks and required documentation.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize activities.
- Mechanical abilities with experience in maintenance and operation of equipment.
- Strong interpersonal and teaming skills for effective communication with all organization levels, contractors, vendors, and suppliers.
- Knowledgeable in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, pneumatic diagrams, flow charts, and cause and effect diagrams.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage daily work as directed by management, Equipment, and Facilities Engineers.
- Ability to write, read, analyze, and interpret technical instructions, including specifications.
Pay Rate Range - $25 - $35 an hour
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
