SUMMARY: Effectively and profitably manages the company’s day-to-day operations in support of established policies, goals, and objectives; provides leadership, strategic direction, and vision.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides hands-on management of the company’s day-to-day operations with the goal of effectively serving the doctors and employee’s needs during Executive Meetings.
Ensures all business transactions are recorded in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) for US and statutory books.
Provides oversight to accounting matters related to the legal entity in Costa Rica and helps manage the relationship with the Accounting Service provider.
Responsible to implement the necessary controls to ensure compliance with the Company’s financial and compliance policies.
Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts.
Coordinates banking and treasury functions including cash management and transfers between subsidiary and parent company.
Responsible for monthly closing process and submission through HFM tool.
Calculates and reviews reserves and allowances.
Manages relationship with outside tax provider to ensure timely and accurate filing of all taxes (payroll, state, 1099s, income, etc).
Assists in the preparation of the annual budget for the business as well as providing analytical explanations of significant variances.
Develops, implements, and monitors financial operation policies and procedures.
Develops, monitors, and implements processes required to effectively manage company's current activities and operations as well as its plans for growth; ensures that effective processes are in place so that growth/change is achieved with minimal disruption to day-to-day activities and profit.
Knowledge of financial planning; determines performance goals and ensures they are achieved.
Oversee Financial Department
Manage two AP/AR accounting clerks
Create monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
Ensure budgets are being followed
Forecasting and Business Strategy:
Forecast reports
Assist in new hires for Finance Dept
Analyze contracts with regards financial terms and conditions
Provide forecasting and analysis for personnel, space and equipment needs
Production Management: Reporting, Reviewing, Strategizing
PTO management; allowed vs. taken report for Finance Department
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
AREAS OF COMPETENCE:
Ability to lead a team and work independently in a timely and accurate manner.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
Must be able to effectively communicate with a diverse group including the Global Finance organization and Senior Management outside of the Finance function.
Must be able to identify and take ownership of significant issues as they arise.
Must be flexible, able to multitask and meet deadlines
Must be able to effectively delegate and distribute assignments
Education/Experience Requirements
B.S. degree in finance, accounting or business administration, with at least 5 years of related work experience.
Experience working in a multi-national preferred.
Quickbooks experience preferred.
Hyperion/HFM experience preferred.
Travel Requirements
Occasionally as needed
