Robert Half is currently seeking a dedicated, ambitious, and experienced Assistant Controller to join a growing organization in Colorado Springs. The successful individual will play a key role in the company and will be responsible for delivering accurate, timely financial reporting, providing technical and operational expertise in all areas of accounting.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular and detailed financial reporting to guide business decisions for senior management.
- Oversee the reconciliation of the company’s general ledger to ensure integrity and accuracy of reported financial data.
- Actively participate in internal and external audits - compiling and preparing standard and ad-hoc financial reports. Assist in resolving any issues that may arise during this process.
- Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns, while ensuring compliance with relevant taxation legislation.
- Develop and manage the company’s budgeting activities, focusing on accurate revenue and expenditure forecasting.
- Coordinate and diligently carry out month-end closing activities, including but not limited to, journal entry postings, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field of accounting, preferably in public accounting or Department of Defense.
- Excellent organizational skills with an attention to detail - critical for managing lengthy, complex tasks related to auditing, budgeting, and tax preparation.
- Proficient with accounting software systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and other basic accounting principles.
- Exceptional analytical skills, with a problem-solving mindset to handle the challenges of financial reporting and reconciliation processes.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Able to present complex financial information in an understandable manner.
