Robert Half is currently seeking a dedicated, ambitious, and experienced Assistant Controller to join a growing organization in Colorado Springs. The successful individual will play a key role in the company and will be responsible for delivering accurate, timely financial reporting, providing technical and operational expertise in all areas of accounting.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform regular and detailed financial reporting to guide business decisions for senior management.
2. Oversee the reconciliation of the company’s general ledger to ensure integrity and accuracy of reported financial data.
3. Actively participate in internal and external audits - compiling and preparing standard and ad-hoc financial reports. Assist in resolving any issues that may arise during this process.
4. Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns, while ensuring compliance with relevant taxation legislation.
5. Develop and manage the company’s budgeting activities, focusing on accurate revenue and expenditure forecasting.
6. Coordinate and diligently carry out month-end closing activities, including but not limited to, journal entry postings, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field.
2. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field of accounting, preferably in public accounting or Department of Defense.
3. Excellent organizational skills with an attention to detail - critical for managing lengthy, complex tasks related to auditing, budgeting, and tax preparation.
4. Proficient with accounting software systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
5. Strong understanding of GAAP and other basic accounting principles.
6. Exceptional analytical skills, with a problem-solving mindset to handle the challenges of financial reporting and reconciliation processes.
7. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Able to present complex financial information in an understandable manner.
