School Social Worker

Location: Rodney, MI

Job Description: We are looking for a passionate and dedicated School Social Worker to join our educational team in Rodney, MI. The School Social Worker will play a vital role in supporting the social, emotional, and academic success of our students. This position involves working closely with students, families, teachers, and administrators to address barriers to learning and promote a positive school environment.

Educational Requirements:

• Masters degree in Social Work (MSW)
• State licensure as a School Social Worker in Michigan
• Certification from the Michigan Department of Education (MDE)

Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling to students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges
• Conduct assessments to identify students needs and develop appropriate intervention plans
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to create supportive learning environments
• Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and munity agencies to coordinate services for students and families
• Develop and implement programs that promote positive behavior, mental health, and social-emotional learning
• Participate in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans
• Provide crisis intervention and support to students and staff as needed
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary

Certifications:

• Valid Michigan licensure as a School Social Worker
• Certification from the Michigan Department of Education (MDE)
