Job Description: Med Surg/ Telemetry - RN

Facility location: 2650 Ridge Ave. Evanston, IL 60201

Internal Pay Scale Range: Starting at $34.75 - $52.70. Based on years of experience

Shift/Hours:

· PM Shift 3pm-11:30pm

• Night Shift: 11pm-7am
• *FT: 40 hrs/wk

Weekend Requirement:

• Saturday/Sunday. Every other weekends

Responsibilities:

· Monitor and interpret rhythms.

· Utilize the nursing process in planning, implementing and evaluating the patient plan of care.

· Monitor patient's hemodynamic statuses.

· Assume responsibility, accountability and authority for outcomes of nursing care.

· Guide and direct assigned unlicensed nursing personnel in delivering patient care.

· Administer prescribed cardiac medications and Telemetry approved drips.

· Recognize and assist patients in shock or those with other, life threatening, complications.

Must Haves Qualifications :

License: IL RN license

Certification: BLS from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Experience:New grads accepted. Will accept new grads and give contingent offers if they do not have their license yet.

*If someone presented doesn’t have the relevant experience, but may be a good fit in terms of the soft skills, good attitude, and strong critical thinking skills most managers will consider them.

About the Unit:

Beds: 25-29

Patient Population: Neurological, Urology, Telemetry, Post-op, Med/Surg

What are there any opportunities for growth? Preceptor, charge nurse, committee, councils

Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:4 ratio on day shift and pms; 1:5-6 on nights.
