Responsibilities:
As a Registered Behavior Technician, you will:
- Implement behavior intervention plans created by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
- Provide direct one-on-one or small group support to students with developmental disabilities.
- Collect and document data on student behavior and treatment progress.
- Assist in the development and adjustment of individualized treatment plans.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other school staff to ensure consistent support for students.
- Maintain a safe and structured learning environment.
- Participate in team meetings and ongoing professional development.
Requirements:
To be eligible, applicants must meet the following local and state requirements:
- RBT Certification: Must possess a current and valid Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification.
- Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of one year of experience working as an RBT, ideally within a school or similar educational setting.
- State-Specific Requirements: Compliance with South Carolina state regulations for educational paraprofessionals.
- CPR and First Aid Certification: Preferred but not mandatory.
- Ethical Standards: Adherence to ethical guidelines and standards as established by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
