Volt is immediately hiring a Hybrid Engineering Drafter in Red Wing, MN with a well-known industry leader. Must be local to Red Wing, MN and be able to meet in office at least one day per week.
In this role you will prepare complicated designs, drawings and layouts working from engineering specifications using computer-aided drafting (CAD) methods.
This is a first shift position.
As an Engineering Drafter you will:

• Prepares scale layouts, assemblies, and details based on designs and/or specifications, including rough sketches to meet business partner requirements, utilizing a CAD system (Computer Aided Design).
• Provides accurate dimensions to define appropriate views of parts and assemblies by drawing orthographic projection and isometric views. This includes defining the number of components necessary to complete assemblies.
• Obtains and communicates information to business partners relevant to shop work orders, purchase requisitions, project evaluation sheets, time sheets, project status and other information.
• Gathers and compiles necessary information to generate scale layouts. Works with machine shop personnel, designers and/or engineers regarding design specifications and prototype design.
• Incorporates purchased and fabricated components into scale layouts.
• Completes documentation packages on assignments.
• Attends design project reviews as requested.

Estimated Duration up to 24 months.
The ideal candidate will have:

• Associate’s degree in Drafting or related – intermediate level understanding of drafting principles associated with technical drawing creation of individual parts and assemblies
• 2+ years’ experience with Creo, AutoCAD with some experience using Adobe Illustrator. Okay if candidate does not have Adobe Illustrator experience but MUST have 2+ years’ experience with Creo and AutoCAD
• Mechanical inclination
• Attention to detail
• Works well in teams

Pay Rate: $34.35 hr.
