We are in search of an Assistant Controller to join our team based in Westborough, Massachusetts. Operating within the solid waste services industry, this role encompasses numerous aspects of the business, not limited to the accounting cycle. The Assistant Controller will work closely with multiple departments, including Operations, Sales, and Customer Service, offering comprehensive support to District Managers.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Accurately processing customer credit applications in a timely manner
• Maintaining precise records of customer credit
• Providing prompt resolution to customer inquiries
• Monitoring customer accounts and initiating appropriate action when necessary
• Assisting in the preparation of monthly financial statements and annual budgets
• Supporting operational personnel with daily, weekly, and monthly metric calculations
• Actively participating in system implementations and audits
• Contributing to sales strategy discussions and contract bids
• Attending community meetings and planning site events
• Facilitating process improvements and approving invoices
• Participating in forecasting activities for the next three months
• Managing Month-end closing procedures
• Gaining a comprehensive understanding of the business through site visits and division, regional, and corporate events
This role requires skills in Auditing, Billing Functions, Budget Processes, Forecasting, and Month End Close.• Must possess strong skills in Auditing
• Proficient in executing Billing Functions
• Comprehensive understanding and experience with Budget Processes
• Proven ability in Forecasting
• Demonstrated experience with Month End Close
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of applicable laws, codes and regulations
