Virtual Special Education Case Manager
Location: Remote (California-based)
Job Type: Full-Time/Part-Time Contract Opportunities
Pay: $40+/Hour
Key Responsibilities:
Case Management:
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local special education laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, services, and communications.
Collaboration:
- Act as a liaison between general education teachers, special education teachers, related service providers, and parents.
- Facilitate and participate in IEP meetings, ensuring that all team members are informed and collaborative in the decision-making process.
- Coordinate and communicate regularly with parents, keeping them informed about their child's progress and any changes in services.
Student Support:
- Provide guidance and support to students and families in navigating the special education process.
- Monitor and assess student progress towards IEP goals, and make necessary adjustments to interventions and supports.
- Address any academic, social-emotional, or behavioral concerns through collaboration with appropriate school staff and service providers.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure timely completion of all IEP-related documentation, including assessments, reports, and progress notes.
- Stay informed on updates to special education laws and regulations and ensure that all practices align with legal requirements.
- Manage all aspects of the IEP process, from initial evaluations to annual reviews and re-evaluations.
Professional Development:
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training related to special education, virtual learning, and case management.
- Stay current with best practices in special education and virtual instruction.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
- California Special Education Teaching Credential or equivalent required.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in special education, with at least 1 year in a case management role.
- Experience working in a virtual learning environment preferred.
- Knowledge of California special education laws and regulations.
