Patient Registration Representative
HealthCare Support is actively seeking a Patient Registration Representative to fill an opening in Bakersfield, CA.
Daily Responsibilities for Patient Registration Representative:
- Obtain patient demographics and signatures on required forms
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
- Collecting co pays
- Billing insurances
- Entering CPT codes in order to create estimate letters
- Following EMTALA, HIPPA, and all other healthcare regulatory laws.
- Must have 24/7 availability and flexible for any shift and day of the week including weekends. Varied hours/rotating shifts. 8 hour shifts, 40 hours per week
Required Qualifications for Patient Registration Representative: - 1+ years of patient registration experience in hospital or urgent care. Will consider busy physician office (no small or specialty offices). Will consider RCM experience at hospital or urgent care too. Manager is STRICT on this rule and not looking for direct patient care experience (i.e. CNA, medical assistant for back office, home health aide)
- Understanding of insurance policies and procedures.
- Ability to work under pressure in ER and OB environments
- Working knowledge of medical terminology.
- Type 45+ WPM (typing test not needed)
- Customer service skills
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications for Patient Registration Representative: - Previous Patient Registration Rep experience

Pay Details: $23 – $24 an hour
