Our client is a growing company in Houston looking to bring on a Finance Manager to their team in Houston, TX! The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, implementing training for new hires on company financial systems, and ensuring compliance with state-level and federal-level tax regimes. This role will be integral in the development and management of corporate and project-level budgets and forecasts, ensuring the financial health and efficiency of the organization.

Finance Manager Responsibilities:

• Oversee financial operations such as financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, payroll, and accounts payable.

• Implement and conduct training for new hires on company financial systems and expectations.

• Manage the system of internal controls over accounting functions to minimize risk and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

• Develop and manage corporate and project-level budgets and forecasts.

• Prepare and present quarterly and annual financial statements.

• Ensure compliance with state-level and federal-level tax regimes.

• Prepare periodic financial statements and the corporate annual report.

• Present recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.

• Provide financial analysis with an emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.

• Responsible for tax planning throughout the fiscal year; files annual corporate tax return.

• Audit accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit.

• Review budget reports and assists other departments to prepare annual budgets.

• Coordinate the preparation of the corporate tax return.

• Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.

• Comply with local, state, and federal government requirements.

• Identify and recommend updates to accounting processes and procedures.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Experience Requirements

• 7+ years of experience – Need someone with a mixture of accounting & FP& A/Business partnership (budgeting/forecasting).
• Comfortable being in the weeds and owning the full month-end close process including, but not limited to; AP, AR, payroll, journal entries, month-end close, financial statement preparation/analysis, etc. On top of the accounting responsibilities, they need someone who can dive into the numbers and provide advisement to the operation leaders in regards to spend.
