We are seeking a Senior Linux Systems Engineer to join our team in Plymouth, Minnesota. The role involves handling various tasks related to Linux systems within our organization. This includes processing customer applications, maintaining customer records, and resolving customer inquiries. The workplace environment is highly professional and the employment type is permanent.
Responsibilities:
• Install, upgrade, and configure Enterprise Linux systems across various environments.
• Utilize Puppet for configuration of Linux systems.
• Maintain and enhance our monitoring infrastructure, which includes tools such as Nagios, Smokeping, and Prometheus.
• Support our Linux-based infrastructure, including ZFS file servers, SQL servers, backup solutions, and more.
• Perform network administration tasks such as switching and VLAN assignments.
• Develop and improve scripting to integrate a wide range of private and public services and APIs.
• Utilize Python and Bash scripting; knowledge of other languages such as Perl, Powershell, and Java would be beneficial.
• Maintain and provide infrastructure for software installation, patching, and maintenance, with an emphasis on open-source tools such as Puppet and Foreman.
• Handle customer credit applications and maintain accurate customer credit records.• Demonstrated proficiency in Linux operating system and associated tools.
• Proven expertise in Cisco, Citrix, Cloud, Dell, and AWS Technologies.
• Proficiency in database management and cluster analysis.
• Thorough understanding of Enterprise Storage and Backup Technologies.
• Proficiency in scripting languages, specifically Python.
• Demonstrated experience in AB Testing and Active Directory.
• Proficiency in Puppet for IT automation.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience as a Linux Systems Engineer or similar role.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is preferred.
