A national logistics/transportation company located near Hillside, NJ, is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their growing team. This Senior Accountant candidate must have revenue experience, a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, 3+ years of public accounting experience (or mixture of public and private), and a thorough knowledge of revenue recognition accounting principles processes, and procedures. Any additional experience in transportation, logistics, or warehousing is a plus but is not required. The company is requiring candidates to work in office 5 days a week but will meet with candidates who have needs for a hybrid schedule.

Other responsibilities include:

•Preparing monthly, weekly, daily, and ad-hoc management reports

•Ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all our accounting tasks

•Preparing account reconciliations and investigating discrepancies to ensure accurate reporting and general ledger maintenance

•Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls to support business practices for both operations and accounting

•Preparing month-end close procedures

•Analyzing and compiling financial information and summarizing financial status

•Overseeing Sales/Accounts Receivable and Revenue Recognition (credit applications, billing matters, collections, revenues streams, integrating with trucking system)

•Integration Lead on transitioning/integrating from old accounting to new ERP accounting system

•Assisting with audits and tax returns

•Ensuring the integrity of accounting information by recording and verifying transactions

•Providing leadership and support for Billing Department shared service center

Other skillsets include:

•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting couples with 3yrs plus accounting experience ideally in public accounting

•CPA or parts passed a plus

•Thorough knowledge of revenue recognition accounting principles processes, and procedures

•Ability to clearly communicate and collaborate with a range of individuals and function as a team player

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of public accounting experience.
