CPI Trained Behavior Interventionist - Compton, CA
ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated and experienced CPI Trained Behavior Interventionist to join our team for the 2024-25 school year in Compton, CA. As a Behavior Interventionist, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with behavioral challenges, helping them to achieve their full potential in an educational setting. Your expertise in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) will be essential in maintaining a safe and supportive environment for both students and staff.
Responsibilities:
- Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) as developed by the schools special education team.
- Utilize CPI techniques to de-escalate and manage student behaviors in a safe and respectful manner.
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and other support staff to provide comprehensive support to students.
- Collect and record data on student behavior and progress, providing regular reports to the special education team.
- Assist in developing and modifying individualized education plans (IEPs) based on student needs and progress.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, both in and out of the classroom.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about student progress and any concerns.
- Uphold all school policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates or Bachelors degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field preferred.
- Current certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) is mandatory.
- Previous experience working with children or adolescents with behavioral challenges.
- Strong understanding of behavioral intervention strategies and techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
