Job Title: Clinical Training Director
Reports to: CEO and Clinical Director
Job Summary:We are seeking a passionate and committed Clinical Training Director to lead and maintain our training programs, including those for doctoral practicum students, doctoral interns, and APPIC postdoctoral fellows. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical psychology, experience in supervising Psy.D. and Ph.D. students, and a commitment to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and professional environment. This role combines operational responsibilities with direct clinical services, providing a unique opportunity to contribute to both the growth of our training program and the delivery of high-quality clinical care.
Key Operations Responsibilities (Approximately 10 Hours/Week):Program Management: Oversee the growth and maintenance of the training program, including doctoral practicum students and training programs for doctoral interns and APPIC postdoctoral fellows.
Trainee Support: Address questions and concerns from clinical trainees professionally and confidently.
Policy Development: Design, communicate, and oversee the implementation of training operations, policies, and procedures.
Recruitment: Assist in conducting interviews, calling references, and making decisions on selecting pre-doctoral and post-doctoral trainees.
Progress Tracking: Develop and implement systems to track trainee progress.
Onboarding and Training: Oversee the onboarding and training of all trainees.
Quality Control: Conduct regular checks on training clinicians' notes, reports, and schedules to ensure quality control.
Review Participation: Participate in trainee reviews with the Clinical Director.
Operational Efficiency: Collaborate with the CEO and Clinical Director to improve the efficiency of systems and processes impacting trainees and trainee-related operations.
Special Projects: Follow up on projects related to trainee recruiting, marketing, assessment efficiencies, and the growth of the business utilizing trainees.
Accreditation: Assist in efforts to achieve APA accreditation for the clinic.
Testing Load: Carry a consistent testing load of two cases per week.
Caseload Management: Assume responsibility for your caseload, ensuring adherence to the practice's standards, values, and quality of care.
Supervision: Conduct supervision for pre- and post-doctoral fellows and practicum students as needed.
Team Participation: Participate in mandatory team meetings and lead didactic trainings.
Education: Psy.D. or Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology.
Licensure: Unrestricted and active license in Clinical Psychology in the state of California (required within six months of accepting the position).
Experience: Extensive experience in clinical neurodevelopmental assessments for autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, learning disabilities, and developmental delays across the lifespan.
Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and management skills to effectively oversee and coordinate clinical training programs.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex information effectively to trainees, colleagues, clients, and families.
Organizational Skills: Proficiency in managing multiple tasks, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines.
Ethical Knowledge: Knowledge of relevant ethical guidelines and regulations governing clinical training programs and clinical practice.
Therapeutic Knowledge: Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities and evidence-based practices in psychology.
Training Adaptability: Ability to assess the needs of trainees and adapt training programs accordingly.
Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges during training.
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in using technology for training purposes, such as video conferencing platforms, electronic health record systems, and online learning management systems.
Background Check: A clear background check is required for employment.
