Founded in 1990, Request Foods is a privately held, family-owned and operated frozen food manufacturer located in Holland, MI. We produce, package, and ship an assortment of frozen food entrees for Private Labels and National Brands for both the retail and food service markets. Summary: Request Foods is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Logistics Manager to lead our freight management and warehousing team. This role involves developing future vision and coaching our team members to enable organizational growth. Our logistics champion will be responsible for analyzing the business climate, and integrating new technologies, into Request Foods future logistics initiatives. While implementing freight management and warehousing strategies, collaborating across various functional departments, and building strong relationships, both internally and externally, our logistics leader will ensure total cost-quality-delivery objectives are achieved. The ideal candidate will possess strong relationship-based leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a proven track record in logistics leadership and financial acumen.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Instill a relationship-based leadership mindset throughout the entire freight management and warehousing teams with a passion driven leadership style involving critical thinking and strong business acumen.
• Foster a center of excellence culture, and critical thinking community within Logistics-Procurement-Supply Chain through leading, coaching and developing safe, high performance action-oriented teams.
• Inspire and empower the logistics team to achieve business success, leading to a high profit efficient organization (2X top line by 2030).
• Develop futuristic inventory management and warehousing strategies to ensure supply while reducing overall inventory and maximize value.
• Partner with other functional areas to enhance overall business solutions (finance, DT, operations, human resources) while integrating operations/manufacturing excellence into all aspects of logistics business solutions and partnerships (measure success in terms of their success).
• Leverage, advance, and integrate technology; become a leading-edge technology freight management and warehousing function.
• Enhance and grow logistics processes and tools utilizing formal problem-solving solutions to address supplier performance (best business practices-BBP).
• Analyze and evaluate market trends, global supply/demand, economic factors and use data to develop and execute strategic processes and procedures to best serve Request Foods.
• Implement appropriate KPI’s to lead the logistics area towards future goals and objectives.

Key Requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or equivalent experience. A strong overall business acumen, a background in finance or MBA, is highly desirable. Professional certifications such as APICS and CPIM are a bonus.
• 7+ years experience of strategic supply chain, logistics/warehousing, or related fields, preferably within the frozen food industry.
• 5+ active years in an influential leadership role with demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional and cross-cultural teams.
• Experience in strategic objective goal setting to drive increased operational performance.
• Advanced analytical, problem solving, negotiating, and communication skills.
• A people over profit relationship-based leadership style.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks with tight timeframes.
• Proficient with Microsoft Applications (e.g. word, excel, outlook, etc).
