DMS Pharmaceutical Group is a growing full-line pharmaceutical wholesaler and specialty distributor in the Northwest Suburbs that is currently seeking a detail-oriented, driven and collaborative individual to join our team and be responsible for business development. This individual will be well rounded in the pharmaceutical industry and be given the opportunity to constantly learn and take on challenges and act as the link between our business objectives and customer and vendor growth initiatives.
Job Responsibilities
The Business Development Representative of Trade and Customer Relations will be located in the Midwest and be responsible for creating, implementing and managing our business development strategy to generate new sales and grow existing business relations and sales to capitalize on the company’s objectives and opportunities. This position will work as a key member of our management team to create a customer and patient-focused strategy to help the company achieve and exceed sales goals.
Primary Duties:
Ø Work with high-level decision-makers within the pharmaceutical wholesale/specialty channel segments; developing and maintaining critical business relationships to ensure sales success as well as compliance with distributor agreements.
Ø Manage and expand sales of channel segments to maximize company objectives and opportunities
Ø Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments
Ø Collaborate with management team to develop strategies and solutions to address and identify key issues internally and within the marketplace
Ø Maintain professional and ethical culture focusing on the “patient comes first” attitude that encourages innovation, motivation, dependability, communication and transparency.
Ø Attend educational workshops and industry conferences; review professional publications; establish personal networks; and participate in professional societies and associations.
Ø Utilize software to manage and track meetings, activities, opportunities, growth of existing business sales and vendor relationships, and success of closed new business sales and vendor relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
Ø Bachelor’s degree required
Ø A minimum of 3 years of proven pharmaceutical sales experience or equivalent sales experience.
Ø High levels of understanding of the entire wholesale/ specialty distribution industry preferred.
Ø Strong financial acumen in understanding what drives profitability of pharmaceutical products
Ø Knowledge of limited distribution networks and specialty products
Ø The position requires the ability to access and communicate effectively and persuasively with high level medical professionals, such as CEOs/CFOs/pharmacists/physicians and department managers.
Basic Requirements:
Ø Advanced MS Office - Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Ø Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and ability to interact across all levels of staff
Ø Self-starter with ability to work independently to create, analyze and review reports and presentations
Ø Ability to work in fast paced environment and make presentations and recommendations to management team
Ø Proven oral, written and communication skills
Ø Strategic thinking, creativity and capacity to assist others in developing ideas and business opportunities
Ø Ability to travel 20-40 percent, both locally and overnight
Ø Valid driver's license
