Senior FSQA ManagerPosition OverviewWe're seeking a FSQA Leader to be a part of the executive team to oversee all of food safety at this plant. This person will join our team at a leading food manufacturing facility in Wisconsin. This role involves spearheading our food safety programs, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and managing new product development. Key Responsibilities:- Leadership: Manage, coach, teach and develop a team of 10 quality technicians and 2 salaried quality supervisors and an R&D Specialist across 2 shifts
- Food Safety Administration: Develop, administer, and maintain food safety programs, including GMP, SQF, HACCP, and preventive controls.
- Safety Plan: Implement and enforce a written food safety plan covering chemical control, allergen control, environmental monitoring, and pest control.
- Compliance Monitoring: Support and monitor food safety programs to meet regulatory requirements.
- Customer Support: Provide technical information to customers regarding product specifications and quality systems.
- New Product Development: Involved in future formulations of new products and new government standards that might arise
- Audit Performance: Conduct external SQF, HACCP and internal GMP and sanitation audits to ensure compliance.
- Documentation: Maintain nutritional and ingredient statements for finished goods.
- Third-Party Coordination: Manage third-party audits and compliance letters for suppliers and vendors.
- Preventive Controls: Ensure effective monitoring and validation of preventive controls.
- Training: Train employees on food safety practices, including SQF and HACCP.
- Continuous Improvement: Reanalyze food safety plans annually or as changes occur.
Qualifications:- Educational Background: B.S. in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or a related technical field is required, no exceptions
- Experience: 7-10+ years in food safety programs, quality systems, new product development, and technical operations support.
- Leadership: 5+ years of food safety and quality assurance leadership in a food manufacturing facility is required
- Certifications: SQF Practitioner, HACCP, and PCQI certifications preferred.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of processing equipment, ingredients, and their interactions.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Analytical Ability: Proficiency in identifying and assessing food safety hazards and quality defects.
