Senior Scientist/ Engineer (NPDES)
Environmental Consulting & Technology, Inc. (ECT) is looking for a highly motivated Senior Scientist/Engineer with expertise in NDPES permitting and a strong background in water quality management. The successful candidate will play a key role in our team, working on projects related to water quality assessment, monitoring, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of regulatory requirements related to NDPES permitting and water quality standards.
- Prepare and submit industrial NDPES permit applications, modifications, and renewals in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Develop and implement water quality monitoring programs, including sampling, data collection, and analysis.
- Evaluate environmental data and prepare technical reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
- Provide technical support and guidance to clients on water quality management practices and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions for environmental challenges.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial NDPES permitting and water quality management.
- Strong understanding of federal and state regulations governing water quality, including Clean Water Act requirements.
- Proficiency in conducting water quality assessments, data analysis, and report writing.
- Experience with environmental monitoring techniques and instrumentation.
- Thorough understanding of nutrient cycling and potential improvement techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients and team members.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Professional Scientist (PS) certification is a plus.
- Experience with the power generation industry is highly desired.
- Travel will be dependent on project demands.
- Valid Driver's license with clean driving record required.
